Here is a marquise diamond that is of the highest color (D) and is cut proportionally gorgeous. It's brilliance is really unmatched... but as we learn in life... nothings perfect. This was a stone that I eventually had "lasered". After you finish this section on "Imperfects" there will be a page on this site teaching you about "clarity enhancement". Laser drilling a diamond is one method of enhancing the clarity of a stone.

See the black crystals. The one that is at the point of the table facet (which is reflecting) was "eye visible" mainly because of the reflections. I had this little baby "zapped". When a diamond is lazered it would be with a stone that had black crystals like this one and once the lazer hits those crystals, they become colorless. If I don't have the picture on file, I'll scan it in and put it up here to show you the "before" and "after" shots of this stone. Here are the other pics I have scanned of this stone.

Same ones, just higher power magnification. Just think, this is like getting 4 rocks for the price of one!
