Here is another excellent learning stone with regards to AGS ideal cut stones.

AGS ideal parameters for pavilion angles are 40.2 - 41.2 degrees.  Our experience shows us that pavilion angles over 41 degrees (when coupled with ideal crown angles at the upper end of the ideal spectrum produce a lot of light leakage under the table.

However when we go to the opposite end of the spectrum with regards to pavilion angles (40.2° - 40.3°) the optical results under our lab equipment show equally *lacking* results.

Let's start with the physical measurements.  Here are it's MegaScope results.

These thumbnails are further details showing facet by facet analysis of both the major (18) and minor (40) facets. 58 total.

When it comes down to light analysis and performance every single test reveals a hit in light return and brilliance with regards to both light return AND contrast.  When we load the Sarin scan of this stone into DiamCalc and run the Cut Quality analysis we get this. (and btw... this is really not bad but it demonstrates that not all AGS "0" have the same strength of light return and brilliance.

If you click on this thumbnail this shows the typical results of one of our top scoring stones.  Note the higher "Light return" scores under both stereo and mono.
The 2nd thumbnail is not based on an actual scan but represents more accurately how most of our top stones photograph under our LightScope. Note how similar the scores are for both the actual scan and the simulated model.

Here is the actual LightScope image of the stone.  Internal reflection is certainly not hurting and under 5800° degree light conditions it is a fiery stone
but each of the digital analysis gives the stone hits in all areas of light return and contrast.

Here are it's BrillianceScope results.

Here are the images as taken under an H&A viewer.  Doesn't quite make it as an H&A although the stone does have high symmetry.

Interestingly the Isee2 gives it the best score in symmetry correlating to the above however this stones depth of contrast and
amount of contrast suffer causing hte score of 7.1.

Next to it is another one of our top scoring H&A's.  Look at the difference in contrast between the 2.
