Limited Guarantee

With our Limited Guarantee you get 10 days for a full refund or exchange less shipping which gives you enough time to have your diamond/jewelry appraised to decide if you'd like to keep it or not.  Depending on the shape and quality of the diamond you are considering we do offer the option to upgrade to our Lifetime Guarantee should you choose to have us personally inspect the diamond and choose to purchase via our full services.

Good Old Gold's Brokered Diamonds Policy

On our search engine we feature diamonds that are not physically here yet we have access to them. If you were taken to this link it is likely this diamond falls into that category.  In reality most diamond websites will list stones that they don't actually have either, they just don't tell you that.  The prices that are listed reflect actual brokered prices which you can purchase them for.  The price reflected means the diamond is drop shipped directly from the manufacturer to you.  If you are looking for the least expensive way to purchase a diamond that's it.  Be aware however that while the stone is backed with a 10 day refund policy we do not see, inspect or analyze the diamond in question.  Ie. it is void of our expertise, services and policies.

We do offer upgrades to these limited services however.

For a non-refundable fee of calling in the diamond, i.e. if you cover our shipping we will physically inspect the diamond and perform our analysis on it.

The expense to do this is...

a. The cost of shipping (see chart below).

Price of Diamond Cost to Ship
$100 - $1000.00 $40.00
$1001 - $5000.00 $55.00
$5001 - $7000.00 $65.00
$7001 - $10,000.00 $75.00
$10,001 - $13,000.00 $88.00
$13,001 - $15,000.00 $95.00
$15,001 - $20,000.00 $120.00
Over $20,000.00 Call

b. The time we spend appraising and analyzing the diamond (free and/or up to $200 per carat).

If we call in a diamond or a few to inspect for you and the stones are duds, you're only outlay will be that of the shipping.  We're not going to waste time scanning, photographing, etc. stones that are not good or that we would not recommend.  We are perhaps one of the best when it comes to weeding out candidates to call in for this inspection.

If we call in a diamond for you and it turns out to be a winner we can verbally tell you this and there is still no additional expense.  You can purchase it for the brokers price plus shipping if we do call it in and we give it a thumbs up.

The only instances in which we charge more is if you would like our additional services which are ...

  • Professional photography of the diamond under suffuse hemisphere lighting.
  • Professional photography under GIA's Diamond Dock (the exact instrument they used to determine their cut grading system).
  • A Sarin and Helium scan showing the details of every facet. (Note: Helium scans are only for certain limited shapes and sizes).
  • Professional photomicrographs under dark-field illumination from 10x up to 64x showing the primary inclusions making the diamond the clarity grade it is.
  • While we're checking the clarity we also check for open feathers that break the surface and any characteristics that might pose a threat to the durability of the diamond.
  • We also check for painting and digging of the girdle facets.
  • A scanned copy of the original lab report. You get the original should you decide to purchase of course.
  • A 3 dimensional model based on a scan of the actual diamond which we load into the Gem Advisor software showing you ...
    • A view of the diamond in office lighting (for brightness/scintillation).
    • A view of the diamond in spot lighting (for fire/scintillation)
    • Ideal-Scope view.
    • AGS' new ASET Scope view (amongst others).
    • Hearts & Arrows optical symmetry view (when applicable) & photography of this phenomena.
  • BrillianceScope Analysis for light performance  in direct light conditions (fire).
  • Isee2 Analysis for light performance in diffuse light conditions (brightness, scintillation, optical symmetry). Note: Isee2 analysis can only be performed on round brilliant cut diamonds.
  • If it is a round or princess cut diamond we can tell you AGS’ cut grade on it even if it is not AGS graded. If it is a round we can also tell you GIA’s cut grade on the diamond even if it  is not GIA graded (rounds only since GIA only cut grades rounds). (Note: Certain aspects of cut grading (GIA or AGS) are subjective so it will either be exact or a very close estimation, light performance however we can accurately determine).
  • You get all this information in a printed appraisal report which is recognized throughout our great country (2 copies, one for you and one for the insurance company).
  • You also get a cd-rom with all of this data with your purchase.
  • We will back the stone with a full 30 day refund policy.
  • We will also offer you a lifetime trade-up policy if it is a shape/quality we regularly stock.
  • On select shapes we also offer a lifetime buy back policy akin to our signature diamonds.

If you would like these services click the "Upgrade" button and we'll proceed to call in the diamond(s) for inspection.

We look forward to being of help.
