Loose Diamond Policies:
Limited Guarantees:

Good Old Gold Stock: On the “Limited Guarantee” policy (listed individually on the diamonds web page) we offer a 10 day return from the time we ship it to you.
Non-Good old Gold Stock: Often we will source diamonds from outside resources in the effort to help our clients find what they're looking for. These diamonds as well as those that are backed with "Limited Guarantees" have a 10 day return period as these diamonds generally do not belong to us and suppliers do not want to tie up inventory longer than that.
|
Lifetime Guarantees:
Diamonds qualifying for lifetime policies are noted on the individual diamonds web page.
On diamonds with "Lifetime Policies" we give a 30-day return policy less shipping on all diamonds purchased from Good Old Gold The bottom line is that you are 100% satisfied with the diamond you purchased from us.
If you decide you want to return the diamond within the first 30 days, you will receive the purchase price of the diamond only (less shipping fees). The return period starts two days after we notify you that your item is finished and ready to ship. Please allow up to 10 days for us to process your refund.

|
Trade Back: All diamonds backed with our "Lifetime Guarantee" include our buy back policy. We at Good Old Gold will buy back the diamond you bought from us for 25% less than what you paid for it (minus the cost of shipping).
This is an incredible policy because think about it, WHEREVER YOU BUY YOUR DIAMOND, once they have your cash, that's it. NO MONEY BACK. Another great thing about this policy is if you have ever spoken to someone who has tried to pawn or sell their engagement ring back to a jewelry store or second hand dealer the average return (and this is a hard reality) IS ANYWHERE FROM 20-30% OF WHAT THEY ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE RING. This gets really bad for those of you who purchased from high end retailers or department stores or malls. Then of course there's always that last option of you selling it in the paper. You'll get the most for it that way should you ever be in that predicament. HOPEFULLY YOU WON'T.
|
Trade Up: Trade back the diamond you purchased from Good Old Gold for the full amount of the purchase price (less shipping). At any time you can trade in the diamond you purchased from Good Old Gold and get exactly what you paid (less the cost of shipping) toward a diamond of at least a $500.00 greater equal or greater value than your past purchase. Once you trade up for another diamond, there are no refunds or buy backs. You can only trade up again.
If the diamond you are trading up was paid with a wire transfer and you are paying the balance of your new diamond with a wire transfer you will qualify for the wire discount.
If the diamond you are trading up was paid with a wire transfer and you are paying the balance of your new diamond with a credit card, the full purchase price of the new diamond must be paid.
If the diamond you are trading up was paid with a credit card and you are paying the balance of your new diamond with a wire transfer the full purchase price of the diamond must be paid.
If the diamond you are trading up was paid with a credit card and you are paying the balance of your new diamond with a credit card the full purchase price of the diamond must be paid.
|
*Please note:
The diamond cannot be chipped, burned or altered in any way different than how you received it from us in order for us to honor your refund or upgrade. If your trade-in does require a minor re-polishing to bring it back to its original condition, only the cost of the re-polishing, a new (GIA/AGS) grading report and any loss of points on the diamond from the re-polishing would be deducted.
*The trade is 1 diamond for 1 diamond.

Setting Policy:
If you decide to purchase settings from us there are no refunds on the settings or wedding bands. This does not however affect our refund policy with diamonds. If you decide you'd like us to ship a setting with the diamond unmounted and then want a 3rd party to set the diamond and size your ring ... WE DO NOT PAY FOR THAT NOR ARE WE LIABLE FOR THEIR WORK. Different jewelers charge different amounts and we cannot be held liable for what they charge or their expenses or the quality of their workmanship. We include labor with all our rings at no expense to you but if you are hiring someone else to do the work we are not subject to their charges or the quality of their workmanship. If you are purchasing a diamond with us and you're getting the mounting elsewhere and would like us to set our diamond in your mounting, a picture of the mounting must be sent to Marie to determine if we will work on it. If we decide to take on the job we will forward you an estimate of the labor. We are not responsible for anything that happens to your mounting during or after we have worked on it. We will not be held liable for manufacturers defects on settings purchased elsewhere.

Deposits:
We require a $500.00 deposit to hold a diamond for you which can be made via credit card or wire. This deposit will hold the diamond for you up to 72 hours to give you time to make payment arrangements with your bank or credit card company. If you pay the balance via credit card the regular price applies. You can receive the bank wire discount for the diamond if you bank wire the balance with no more than $500.00 deposit on credit card. The stone will be considered sold and your deposit is fully refundable or exchangeable up to 30 days after the deposit is placed. We will hold the stone longer than 72 hours if your order requires a setting which takes longer to get.
If you are purchasing a setting with us as well your deposit must cover the cost of the setting (which would then be non refundable since it is a special order item), thus the deposit would serve 2 functions.

Video Request Policy:
As a service to our clients we are happy to shoot video comparisons of diamonds they are looking at when we've never, ever shot the appearance of that diamond before. Lately we have been getting inundated with video requests from people who have no intention to purchase. Our time is valuable and it is time consuming and costly to shoot and edit HD video so we must be careful about what we are going to shoot, particularly when that particular product has been shot multiple times. For example if one wants to see what a particular brand looks like which we have shot more than 50 times, there is no need for yet another one that is going to look identical to what you're asking to see. If we cannot point you to a video that shows you what you want to see then we'll shoot it. Also if you have checked out with the diamond or a deposit has been placed (for US customers) we will shoot it. If you are outside the US then you must at least reserve the diamond you are leaning towards before we are going to put in the man hours for video shooting and editing. This policy does not apply to clients who cover our shipping/transportation of diamonds to our laboratory and for those looking at fancy shapes since their appearance is different from diamond to diamond.
**Please keep in mind that do to the time involved, we are only able to shoot one video per customer. Because of this please let us know and include all aspects that you would like for us to include in this one video.
