The Most Complete Information Package You Will Find on the Net Concerning Your Diamond Purchase

Here at the UDIS we sift through the hype and get down to the hard cold facts concerning the stats and data on each and every stone you're going to consider purchasing.

In the tradition of living up to our name, when you view diamonds for sale on the UDIS you will review...
  • The diamonds Lab Report (GIA, AGS, etc.)
  • The diamonds Sarin or MegaScope analysis (the labs can make mistakes you know). I double check all stones via a computerized analysis pertaining to the diamonds cut dimensions. The computer automatically assigns the AGS proportion cut grade to any diamond it analyzes.
    • Sarin Web Viewer: Sarin's latest Web Viewer can be downloaded at this link. You must have IE 5.0 or higher running a Windows PC to view the various & awesome Sarin Reports generated via the DiaMension 2000 and the new DiaVision software. If you are running a different browser or a Mac we also feature a screen shot of the Sarin proportions you can easily view in our GIA FacetWare Report.
  • Virtual Model: A genuine model of the diamond being inspected.  On each and every diamond we feature we perform a scan of the stone with the worlds most accurate diamond scanners utilizing both Sarin and Helium scanners for the process.  These "Virtual Models" can be loaded into various lighting conditions and gemscopes within the software to give you an ideal of how the diamond will appear when viewed in ...
    • office/fluorescent lighting (shows brightness and scintillation)
    • spot lighting (shows fire and scintillation)
    • Hearts & Arrows viewer
    • DiamXray/IdealScope view
    • NEW AGS ASET view.
    • ** Recommended software for viewing some of the data we feature.

Virtual Models: On many of the stones featured there are virtual models you can view which also give quality assessment of the cut and the diamonds light return via the studies and software of Moscow State University. The free GemReader software has been updated so the links on some of the diamonds are of the old version which will not install. Get the new updated GemReader software at
      this link.
  • Microscopic Pictures: of any stone you'll consider under 10x - 63x magnification with dark-field illumination. When diamonds are analyzed in the labs it is performed under microscopic examination with dark-field illumination. Websites are popping up offering pictures under magnification with overhead lighting or soft light. Don't fall for it... overhead light masks inclusions and imperfections. Dark-field LIGHTS UP inclusions and imperfections making the critical analysis easier. Don't you want to know what's making your diamond the clarity it is? To see an example see my homepage on clarity.
  • DiamXray™ Analysis: The DiamXray™ is one of today's most advanced gemological pieces of equipment that shows both laymen and gemologist
    • Whether the facets of any given diamond are functioning as reflectors or non-reflectors.
    • The intensity upon which light is exiting the diamond.
    • The optical symmetry of any given stone. Optical symmetry reveals both the level of craftsmanship and optical design of any given stone. An item we now grade on rounds and certain fancies.
  • Hearts and Arrows Images: When appropriate, with Ideal cut diamonds actual pictures are taken of each diamonds Hearts and Arrows pattern letting us know diamonds internal symmetry, and the exactness to which it's precision has been cut on a 3 dimensional basis.

Some sites may offer one or two of the services above we provide for our clients but add to that the refund, exchange, trade-up and buy back policies we offer to our clients and we're pretty tough to beat.

The diamonds listed here are the stones that we have in house. As we are consistently purchasing for stock it's almost impossible to always have every diamond in house listed here for sale. If you'd like to know what else I have in stock that may pertain more to your needs, please don't hesitate to either call me at 516-798-5151 or drop me an email.

Why this site?

When making a website to sell diamonds I could have taken one of 2 routes. The path of least resistance or the path of hard work. You see, 99.9% of the other diamond sites out there that do sell diamonds expect you to spend your hard earned money with them, without investing their time or effort with you. I've worked hard to make this website to educate you, the consumer and work hard to maintain it as well. The easy path for me to have taken would have been to put up a fancy search engine with thousands of diamonds in it (diamonds which of course I wouldn't have personally inspected or EVEN HAVE), put up the standard 1-4 page basic teaching of the 4C's that every single one of them have, and let you do your search, pick a diamond, make a sale, let a salesclerk take the order and voilá... make a sale. This is how 99.9% of diamond internet sites operate. Yes, the sad fact is... all those sites with all those long lists, the only thing they can tell you is the limited information they have on paper. They cannot show you how good (or bad) of a VS or SI it is or tell you anything about its cut or how brilliant it actually is. Want the personal attention of actually being able to see the diamond before the sale? Ask them to give you personal attention by scanning the stone? That requires work. Care for the client's needs. Listening to the client's concerns. Most big diamond corporations or even most websites don't have time for this. Even looking at the report they cannot tell you whether the inclusions are black or white and of course the diamonds cut quality. You'd also be surprised how many of these sites ARE NOT EVEN A STORE!!! Just some guy in his basement putting up a list of "virtual" diamonds who doesn't know the first thing about what he's selling you, much less invest money in an inventory or equipment to better serve you. It's really amazing what you'll find out there.

The path I choose is of personal commitment to my clients. Revealing the facts to them before the sale. Service after the sale. 100% total customer satisfaction. A lifetime customer if you will. We originally intended for our website to be an extension of our store, it has grown to more than we have expected, but God forbid we lose our touch for personalized service.

I realize that I'm not going to win everyone. I knew that from the start and I know many will use the knowledge on this site to make their purchase elsewhere. That's ok. There are many, who after reading this site will give me a shot at the sale. That's ok too.  To most of the people I come in contact with they are concerned about their purchase and want to see the stone in the intimate way's I show them to my clients. Think about it... who else shows their clients under the scrutiny of the microscope, Sarin proportion analyzer, DiamXray, BrillianceScope, colorimeter measurement, etc. Call me old fashioned but I still believe in earning the sale. I hope I have earned your respect and consideration of your purchase as a result of this site, should you be in the market. Most everyone I hear from says... "After reading your site Jonathan, I feel as though I know you a long time now." Cool... now write me or call and let me get to know you too.

As you compare my prices you'll find I'm offering excellent numbers on the diamonds I put up for sale. It is not impossible to find cheaper. There's always someone cheaper than the cheapest deal you'll find. The question you have to ask yourself when you're buying this kind of a personalized item and IF I'm a percentage or 2 higher is... who is the one who has earned my sale? Who is the one who invested time in me and has helped me in a personal way to make the wisest choice possible. Who is the true salesman and who is the salesclerk? When I purchase something... no matter what it is, I seek out the true salesman. The one who knows their product. The one who listens to my needs and shows me why and how he can fill my needs within my budget. I love the Internet and I love doing business over the Internet. I do it on a daily basis and have earned the sales and respect of many. The one thing I don't like about the net is that it has produced and is producing a generation of order takers and no true salesmanship.
